Why does everyone skip the Power Rangers theme song?
I used to think the original MMPR theme was just cheesy filler, but last week I rewatched the first episode and actually listened to the lyrics... they literally tell the whole plot setup in 90 seconds. People keep calling it a kids song, but it's a perfect hook that explains the morphin grid without any boring exposition, you know? Has anyone else caught how much better you understand the show when you pay attention to that intro?
Did you ever try watching it with the volume up and the lyrics on screen? I did that with my kid a few years back, and it honestly changed how I saw the whole series. The song hits every key point, the danger, the team, the powers, and it does it faster than most opening scenes in modern shows. Once you catch all that, the actual episodes feel like they start with a running start instead of a slow crawl.
