Last Tuesday's nap ruined every other nap this week and I can't stop chasing it
So last Tuesday I laid down at 1:40 on the couch with this old quilt my grandma made, windows half open, and woke up at 2:25 feeling like I'd slept nine hours. No fog, no panic, just walked straight to the kitchen and made coffee like a normal person. I've tried to copy that exact setup every day since and it's been a mess. Wednesday I slept 55 minutes and felt like I got hit by a truck, Thursday the mail truck woke me at the 20 minute mark, and Friday I somehow set my alarm for PM instead of AM and it never went off, so I woke up at 4:10 with a headache. I think the magic was that I was dead tired and the room was cool, but I honestly can't tell which part mattered. Has anybody actually nailed down why some naps land perfect and others wreck your whole afternoon, or is it just dumb luck?
