The 3 PM wall made me ditch my dark bedroom for a couch nap
Last month I kept nodding off at my desk around 3, so I'd drag myself to the bedroom with blackout curtains and a weighted blanket. That worked fine but I woke up groggy every single time, like I'd been out for 4 hours instead of 25 minutes. Then one Tuesday I was too lazy to walk upstairs, so I flopped on the living room couch with just a thin throw pillow and my phone alarm set for 15 minutes. I woke up before the alarm even went off, felt clear headed, and actually remembered my dream for once. Turns out the extra sunlight and the slightly less comfortable angle kept me in a lighter sleep stage. Now I've stopped using the bed entirely for naps unless I'm sick. Has anyone else found that the wrong spot on purpose works better than the perfect setup?
