Frozen vs fresh salmon in the air fryer, freshness lost by a mile

I finally tested both back to back last Tuesday and the frozen fillet came out dry and flaky while the fresh one stayed juicy with a perfect crust. Has anyone else found that the thawed ones need like 4 extra minutes or is it just my model?
