Blew $175 on a wireless keypad kit that ate batteries every 3 weeks

Put one of those battery-sipping wireless keypads on a customer's garage entry back in March, and it burned through a set of AAs every 3 weeks until she called me back twice. Turned out the thing was talking to the panel every 40 seconds instead of sleeping, so I ate the cost of swapping it for a hardwired unit and lost a full Saturday on the callbacks. What keypads are you all using that actually hold battery life on a busy door?
