Rant: 22 gauge wire won't fit in a standard IDC terminal and nobody tells you this
Had a job in an older house last Tuesday where the prewire was done in 22 gauge instead of the usual 18. Tried stripping it longer, twisting it, nothing worked because the punch down blocks just won't bite on wire that thin. Ended up buying these tiny 3M Scotchlok connectors at the supply house on 5th and they grabbed it on the first try. Took me two hours to figure out what a $12 bag of connectors solved in five minutes. Anybody got a better fix for retrofitting thin gauge wire into newer panels?
