Central AC vs heat pump after 4 months in Edmonton: which way do you lean?
I got a quote for a heat pump install at my 1970s bungalow in Edmonton and the contractor said it would cut my winter gas bill, but my neighbor who did one says the defrost cycles drive up electric costs bad. My old central AC from 2012 just died last month so I need to pick, and the $9,000 difference between the two quotes is making my head spin. Anyone here made the switch in a colder Alberta city and can tell me what their actual utility bills looked like after a full winter?
