Just realized a $1,200 quote for a water heater install was actually a red flag
A guy in Rio Rancho came by last Tuesday to look at my 15-year-old unit and told me he could swap it same day for $1,200 cash, no permit needed. He kept rushing me to sign and said 'your neighbors all do it this way' when I asked about the city inspection. Has anyone else run into these door-to-door handymen who skip permits, and did you actually call the city to check?
