PSA: pull the leader out a tiny bit after loading, it saved 3 rolls for me
I kept getting blank rolls from my Canon AE-1 because the film wasn't catching the take-up spool, so I'd shoot 24 frames of nothing and only find out at the lab in Portland. My uncle who shot weddings for 20 years told me to pull about two inches of leader out and slip it into the take-up slot before closing the back, then advance twice with the back open to watch it grab. Tried it on my last 3 rolls and every single frame came out, no more mystery blanks. The little rewind knob should turn when you advance, that's how you know it caught. Anyone else have a camera that eats film like this, or is it just my AE-1 being picky?
