The $40 light meter that burned me at a flea market shoot

Picked up this vintage Sekonic meter for 40 bucks thinking it was a steal. Trusted its readings for a whole roll of Portra 400 at the Rose Bowl swap meet. Every single frame came back two stops underexposed, faces all muddy and dark. Lesson learned, now I always check against my phone app before committing. Anyone else get fooled by old gear that looked fine but was way off?
