Can we talk about the fact that Cowboy Bebop only had 26 episodes and still feels bigger than shows with 200?
I was on the wiki page for Cowboy Bebop last night and saw it ran from April to April, 1998 to 1999, just 26 episodes total. That number kind of stopped me, because I've watched it three times and it feels like a whole universe with space ports and bounty chips and all that jazz. Meanwhile I'm 180 episodes into a long shonen show and still don't feel like I know the side characters at all. I get that budget and writing time matter, but it made me wonder if shorter shows just get tighter. Maybe it's the episode count forcing every single scene to pull weight. What's a short anime that felt way longer than its episode count to you?
