Spotting a lot of chat about anime opening sequences lately

In the past few weeks, forum threads have been full of people breaking down why certain openings are so good. For instance, there's a long thread about how the Jujutsu Kaisen opening uses color to show character growth. It's cool to see everyone sharing their thoughts on this small part of shows.

Jujutsu Kaisen's first opening focuses on the show's dark world, not character growth. The director said the red and black colors highlight the danger from curses. Character development is usually in the episodes, not the opening theme. For example, Demon Slayer openings showcase fight scenes more than personal change. People sometimes look too deep into the visuals because they love the show. Still, all this talk shows how much fans care lmao.

Wait the director actually said that about the colors? I always thought fans were just guessing lol. It's wild when the real reason is way more simple than what people come up with. Makes you rethink all those deep dive videos.

Remember that spinning gear thing in Attack on Titan's first opening? People made whole videos saying it was a deep symbol for the cycle of war or whatever. Then the creator basically said it just looked neat and matched the industrial vibe. It's hilarious when the real answer is that simple, but the fan theories are way more fun to talk about. I still watch those over-the-top breakdown videos though, they're a good time.
