Saw a used appliance store in Columbus running washers with no hoses hooked up, is that normal for a test run?
I was in Columbus last week helping my brother move and we stopped at this used appliance place on the east side so he could look at a dryer. While I was waiting I watched the guy in the back plug in three washers in a row, fill them partway with a bucket, and run them through a spin cycle with the drain hose just hanging into a floor drain. No supply lines hooked up at all. I get that he's just checking the pump and the spin, and honestly it's a fast way to do it without dragging hoses around. But one of them walked about an inch across the floor during the spin and he didn't seem to care. I've only been doing flooring, so appliance testing isn't my trade, but it made me wonder if that's just how it's done or if he's cutting corners. If you sell used units, how do you test them before they go out the door? Do you check the fill valve and the drain pump separately or all at once?
