Warning: A clogged drain hose almost cost my neighbor a new washer

So, my neighbor was ready to trash his washing machine because it wouldn't drain. I told him to let me take a look first, and sure enough, the drain hose was packed with gunk from his laundry room. Cleared it out, and it's been running smooth for a week now. Felt pretty good to save him some cash and keep an appliance out of the landfill.

Actually dryers clog way more than washers in my experience, @angelar41. Your buddy sure it wasn't the dryer vent? Those lint jams are the worst.
