Unpopular opinion: I used to think topping trees was fine until I saw the aftermath on a 60 foot oak in Medford
A homeowner hired me to clean up a topped oak last month and the decay pockets were so bad the whole thing had to come down, so now I actually read the ANSI A300 standards before I bid any pruning job, and I'm wondering how many of you have talked a client out of topping before they called someone who would do it?

WELL a topped tree always rots that way, but the real fix is talking to the HO before anyone cuts.
