Dropped my trowel down a 6 foot test unit in Flagstaff and had to fish it out with a magnet tied to paracord
Last Thursday I was screening dirt at a site outside Flagstaff when my trowel slipped out of my hand and went straight down into the deepest test unit we had open, about 6 feet of loose fill. The magnet on a string trick worked after like 15 minutes of blind fishing, but I nicked the edge of the blade on a rock on the way up and now I'm worried I messed up the straight edge I use for scraping floors. Anyone got a good way to true up a trowel edge again, or do I just buy a new one and call it a loss?
