TIL a farmer near me found a whole Roman coin stash while digging a drainage ditch
A guy plowing a field outside St. Albans hit something metal a few weeks back and it turned out to be about 60 silver coins buried in a pot. He stopped digging right away and called the county archaeologist, who showed up the same day and said it was probably hidden around 300 AD. What's the strangest thing you've ever heard of getting dug up by accident in a field?
