Overheard a student call cadmium red a waste, made me think
Was at a community center paint night helping a friend unload supplies. Some art student walked by and said nobody uses cadmium red anymore, it's just expensive sludge. That stuck with me because I still have a tube from 2011 I use almost weekly for skin tones. Half the stuff in the swap bin here would've been gold when I started in the 90s. Anyone else notice younger artists tossing pigments that still work fine just because they aren't trending?
