Tried a gum eraser vs a kneaded one on my old sketchbook, and the cheap kneaded one won
So I had this 5 year old sketchbook with soft graphite all over it, and I tried a $2 pink gum eraser first because that's what I had in my bag. It smeared everything and left these weird shiny spots on the paper. Then I dug out a kneaded eraser I got in a swap pile here maybe 6 months ago, and it lifted the graphite clean without touching the paper texture. The gum one just pushed the dust around. I know a lot of folks swear by the hard erasers for big cleanups, but for sketchbook work I'm not going back. Curious if anyone has a different take, or if I just got a bad gum eraser from the dollar bin at the craft place on 8th.
