My $8 kitchen scale fixed my coffee problem in one day
I kept making weak coffee for weeks, changing beans and grind size with no luck. Then I weighed my usual scoop and found I was using half the amount I thought, about 12 grams instead of 20. Bought a cheap digital scale from Target for $8 and measured every batch since. Anyone else found their coffee issue was just a measurement problem, not the equipment?
The same thing happened to me, but the opposite way. I was dumping in what I thought was a scoop and it ended up being like 30 grams. My coffee was so strong it could wake the dead. Once I got a scale, I realized my "scoop" changed depending on how hard I packed it. Now I just weigh out 18 grams every morning and it's the same cup every time. It's boring but it works. Honestly, the scale is the only thing in my coffee setup that actually matters.
