Why do people ask 'how long does it take' right after asking for a full rundown
I've noticed people ask questions in a weird order. They'll want a complete breakdown of something, then the very next sentence is 'so how long will this take?' It's like asking for a recipe and then asking if you can just eat the flour instead. Last month I helped 4 different people plan stuff and 3 of them did this exact thing. What's the deal with that?

Sounds like people want the full plan so they can feel in control, but what they really care about is the deadline. Mostly they just want a number so they can tell their boss or whoever is waiting on them.
