I finally figured out why my moon shots looked soft, and it was not my lens
I kept blaming my lens for months, then last week in Denver I stacked 40 frames of the moon in free software and the edges went sharp like that. Turned out my single shots were just getting smeared by air movement, not bad glass. Each quick shot had the moon wobbling a little, and stacking let the good frames win. Anyone else start with stacking and never go back to one-shot moon photos?
