I finally quit zooming into every Orion photo and just looked at it

For like 8 years I would take a picture of Orion and immediately crop in on M42, the nebula, to see if I got the colors right. Last month I was reviewing shots on a 27 inch monitor and accidentally left one zoomed out. The whole constellation with the stars and the dust lanes just looked better as a whole. Now I do one full frame shot for every close up I take. It feels like I'm actually seeing the night sky instead of a specimen. Anyone else stopped chasing the tiny details and started framing wider?
