PSA: check your dew heater before a 4 hour session at Rocky Mountain National Park
Setup looked fine at 9pm, temp was around 34 degrees and my scope was dry. By midnight the corrector plate on my SCT was fully fogged and I lost about 90 minutes of subs before I noticed. I pulled the dew heater strip, found the RCA plug was loose, reseated it, and wrapped the controller in a hand warmer for the rest of the night. Got 40 usable frames after that, but I missed the best seeing window. Anyone got a checklist that actually works for cold weather imaging runs?
