Finally committed to the neighborhood co-op over Kroger this month

I've been driving past the East Atlanta co-op for like two years but always defaulted to Kroger because it's familiar. Finally forced myself to do a full grocery run there last week and ended up spending $12 less than my usual trip somehow. Has anyone else made the switch to a smaller local spot and noticed their wallet actually felt better?

... and that's exactly what happened to me when I finally switched to Little Bear over on Memorial Drive. I used to think co-ops were just more expensive because everything's local and organic, but once I started actually planning my meals around what they had in season, my grocery bill dropped way down. Plus I wasn't buying all those random snacks and boxed stuff I don't really need, just because Kroger has a whole aisle of them screaming at me. It's kind of wild how much less I waste now too, like I'm not throwing out half-rotted veggies every week. Hope your co-op treats you as good as mine has.

Man, this is exactly what I went through. I switched to the little co-op near my house last year and it was a game changer. I stopped buying all those impulse snacks and frozen pizzas just because they were on sale. Now I just grab what's in season and build meals around it. My fridge actually empties out before stuff goes bad. Feels good to not waste money and food at the same time.

Same @patriciaellis, Kroger's snack aisles are basically designed to bankrupt you on purpose.
