My nesting boxes were too dark, eggs started showing up on the floor
Last month I noticed three of my hens dropping eggs in the run instead of the coop. I figured they were just being picky until I stuck my head inside the nesting area and realized how dim it was. The overhang I built for rain blocked almost all the morning light. I cut a small vent window on the east side for $12 in hardware cloth and plexiglass. All five hens went back to using the boxes within a week, anyone else deal with light issues in their coop?
