Vent: My new run skirt lasted exactly 6 days before a raccoon figured it out
I spent almost three full weekends building what I thought was a fortress of a chicken run, put in that welded wire with the smaller grid, buried it a foot down, the whole deal. Then Tuesday morning I go out to let the girls free range and there's a hole under the corner post like someone took a shovel to it. The raccoon just dug straight down, not even trying to chew through the wire, because the wire only went a foot down and this thing apparently does geology. I patched it with rocks and more wire, but now I'm paranoid it's gonna try the other three corners tonight. Has anyone else dealt with a digger that smart, and did you end up going with an electric fence or just laying down concrete pavers around the whole perimeter?
