Was dead set against fermented feed, now I'm a believer after 6 weeks
I thought fermenting chicken feed sounded like extra work for no payoff, plus I worried about mold making my hens sick in the humid Georgia summers. Then my Buff Orpington had a rough molt and my neighbor Sue, who runs 30 birds, let me try her fermented mix for a week and the difference in feather regrowth and egg quality was honestly shocking. Has anyone else seen big improvements in flock health after switching, and how do you keep the smell down in a small 5 gallon setup?
