$12 spent on a knockoff Sharknado DVD and it was the best bad movie night ever

I saw this DVD at a flea market in Phoenix for like 12 bucks and figured why not. Popped it in last Friday with some friends and we were dying laughing the whole time. The effects are so fake like the sharks look like they were drawn in MS Paint and the acting is beyond terrible. One scene a dude gets eaten but you can literally see the wire holding the plastic shark. I thought I wasted money but honestly it gave us like 3 hours of entertainment. My buddy tried to count all the plot holes and gave up after 20 minutes. Anyone else got a cheap find that turned into a goldmine for bad movie night?

Nah man I gotta disagree with you here lol. I actually tried watching Sharknado once and turned it off after 20 minutes because it was just too painful even for me. I get that bad movies can be fun but that one felt like it was trying too hard to be bad on purpose instead of just being naturally terrible. The MS Paint sharks just annoyed me more than they made me laugh. I'd rather watch something like The Room or Birdemic where the badness feels genuine and not like someone was just messing around. But hey if you guys had a good time then more power to you I guess.

It's like everything now is just trying so hard to be ironic before it even is, nobody can just be real anymore.

Blame the audience, not the creators. People eat up that ironic self aware stuff because it makes them feel clever for getting the joke. There's a reason Sharknado got seven sequels - someone was watching.
