Paid $35 for a 'director's cut' Blu-ray and got a worse version, has anyone else dealt with this?
I know everyone in this group loves finding the hidden gems in bargain bin garbage, but I paid $35 for a supposed 'director's cut' of a cult classic horror flick last month and it was just the same movie with 4 extra minutes of a character staring at a wall. The packaging said 'restored and remastered' but the picture looked like someone ran it through a potato filter. I get that we're all here for the fun of bad movies, but this one wasn't even fun bad, it was just boring bad. The extras were three deleted scenes that made the plot more confusing and a commentary track where the director fell asleep for five minutes. I've spent less on takeout for a meal that gave me more enjoyment. Has anyone else gotten burned by these overpriced 'restored' editions, or am I the only one who thinks they're a cash grab?
