That time the projector died mid-movie at our bad film fest

We were about 20 minutes into The Room at my buddy's place in Cleveland when the bulb just went out... total darkness. Ended up watching the rest on a laptop propped on a stack of pizza boxes, which honestly made it funnier. Anyone else have a screening go sideways on you?

Man that laptop on pizza boxes move is legendary, I can just picture the greasy fingerprints all over the keyboard. We had a similar thing happen at a friend's garage screening of The Toxic Avenger when the DVD player just gave up halfway through. Ended up acting out the last 40 minutes with hand puppets and a half-eaten bag of chips, which was way more entertaining than the actual movie.

Haha, that hand puppet thing sounds AMAZING. But here's what nobody's talking about with that laptop setup - the heat. You ever notice how a laptop on a pizza box actually works BETTER than a desk because the cardboard creates a makeshift vent? The grease seals the deal, literally adds a layer of insulation. My buddy @fisher.mason tried this with a cheap Dell during a marathon movie night and the thing ran cooler than it ever did on his wooden table. Plus the leftover pizza smell is a bonus, masks that burning electronics scent.
