Watching 'The Room' at 2x speed changed how I see bad movies
So last Friday my buddy threw on The Room for bad movie night but we were running late on time so he jokingly hit 2x speed on the remote. At first I thought it would ruin the so-bad-it's-good magic but honestly it made everything funnier. Tommy Wiseau's pauses become a blur, the football scene looks like a chaotic highlight reel, and the whole thing felt like a fever dream. We finished in like 50 minutes and laughed way harder than the normal slow burn. Now I'm wondering, does anyone else mess with playback speed for these movies or is that cheating the experience? Curious if sped-up bad movies hit different for other folks or if I'm just broken.
