Watch out for that 'just add water' pancake mix
My batter came out a total gluey mess, and fixing it took me 45 minutes of adding extra flour and milk bit by bit. Has anyone else had a box mix just completely fail on them?

Honestly check the humidity in your kitchen, it can wreck a box mix. My batter turned to paste last summer during a rainy week, had to basically double the dry ingredients to save it.

Wait, is that why my brownies came out so dense last month? We had that crazy humid spell and my batter was super thick, like it wouldn't even pour right. I ended up adding an extra egg and a splash of milk just to get it into the pan.

Oh man, I have to disagree! I've made those mixes in all kinds of weather and never had a problem. It sounds like you might have just stirred it way too much. The box always says to leave lumps! Once you over-mix it, the gluten turns it into glue no matter what. I just give it a few gentle folds until it's barely combined, and it comes out perfect every time.
