I finally gave up on my vertical tower planter after 3 months
Everyone in this group seems to love those tiered vertical towers for small spaces, but mine was a disaster from day one. The top tier kept drying out while the bottom stayed soggy, and my basil and lettuce both ended up with root rot by week 4. I tried adjusting the watering schedule 3 times but the design just sucks for anything with shallow roots. Switched to a simple row of 6 inch pots on a rail shelf, and my plants are actually thriving now after 2 weeks. Has anyone else had a bad experience with those towers or am I the only one who hates them?

Nah you're not alone, I had the same issue with one of those towers last summer. The watering was impossible to get right no matter what I tried.

I used to think those towers were genius, honestly. I bought one and set it up in my backyard thinking it'd be foolproof. But after three months of constant over or underwatering, everything just rotted out on me. It completely changed my mind about those systems, they just don't work for me.
