That time my neighbor leaned over the rail and critiqued my cherry tomato plant like a wine judge
I was out on my third floor balcony in Chicago last July, trying to tie up a tomato plant that had gone completely wild, when the guy two doors down leaned over and gave my cherry tomato setup a full review. He pointed at my single sad cage and goes, "That thing needs more airflow or you're gonna get blossom end rot by August," then just went back inside like he hadn't ruined my whole afternoon. I ignored him for about a week, then lost two tomatoes to exactly that, so I swallowed my pride and got a second cage and a small clip fan. Now I'm the one leaning over the rail giving unsolicited advice to the new tenant below me, which feels a little karmic. Does anyone else have a neighbor who unofficially runs their garden from the sidelines?
