Question about the pawn shop guy who told me to skip the scratched discs and I almost listened
Stopped by a pawn shop on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie about 3 weeks ago and the guy behind the counter told me not to bother with a stack of scratched PS2 games in the $2 bin because "they never play right, just wasted money." I was about to walk away but I flipped through them anyway and grabbed a copy of Katamari Damacy with a big scuff on the bottom for $2. Took it home, hit it with a little toothpaste and a microfiber cloth like a buddy showed me once, and it loaded up fine on the first try. Played for about 2 hours with zero skips. So now I don't know what to think, because the guy seemed so sure and he's been running that counter for a while. Was he just trying to keep me from digging through his bin? Has anyone else had a pawn guy give them bad advice on cheap games that turned out to be totally wrong?
