Finally moved my tower off the carpet after 2 years and my temps dropped 9 degrees
For two years I had my case sitting right on the carpet under my desk in my apartment in Sacramento, and I kept telling myself the dust filters were handling it. Last weekend I cut a scrap 2x4 into two little rails and lifted the whole thing about 3 inches off the floor, and my GPU idle temps went from 41C to 32C within a day. Was it the airflow or just that I finally vacuumed the front filter while I was down there, and does anyone else run a riser or shelf they'd actually recommend?
