My monitor arm setup fell apart during a ranked match in Denver

I was mid clutch in Valorant last Tuesday when the gas spring on my cheap monitor arm gave out and the screen slammed down onto my keyboard. The mount was $35 off Amazon and it lasted maybe 8 months before the tilt joint stripped out. I ended up replacing it with a wall mount from a local electronics shop for $80 and now the desk feels way more open. Has anyone else had a budget arm fail at the worst possible moment, or did I just pick a dud?
