Hot take: picking up microplastics by hand is a waste of a Saturday
Last month on Venice Beach I spent 3 hours crouching with tweezers sifting sand for tiny fragments, and I collected maybe a shot glass full while the tide kept bringing in new bits, so now I just target the obvious bottle caps and straws and call it a day, but am I alone in thinking we should push for better filters on storm drains instead of this losing battle?
