PSA: the rusty bottle cap I found on Fort Myers Beach taught me to bring gloves every single time
I bent down to grab what looked like a plain silver cap near the pier last Saturday and sliced my thumb on a rusted edge that was hidden in the sand. Now I keep a pair of cheap garden gloves in my car door and a small first aid kit in my bucket, since that cut kept me out of the water for a week. Weird part is I'd been picking up trash barehanded for months and thought gloves were overkill. Does anyone else have a go-to glove that holds up when it gets wet and sandy?
