That $12 mesh scoop bag was a game changer for my Sunday cleanup
Picked up one of those fine mesh bags for sifting microplastics out of the sand at Pismo Beach last month. Best money I've spent on gear, my old bucket let everything wash right back out.
Game changer for my Sunday cleanup" - I get it, the scoop is handy, but that mesh isn't going to catch microplastics. Those bags are made for sifting sand for shells or maybe tiny rocks. Microplastics are way smaller than the mesh holes, so most of it just slips right through. You'd need a proper filter with super fine screen to actually grab that stuff, and even then it's tricky. Not trying to be a downer, just want you to know what you're really getting out of it.
