Warning: a leaking bag of spoiled bait sat in the sun at Doheny for 3 days
Last Saturday around 8am I was working the north end of Doheny State Beach and found a plastic grocery bag tucked against the rocks that smelled so bad I gagged through my gloves. It was full of old bait and a little seawater, and the bottom had torn open so the juice was soaking into the sand. I grabbed my long trash tongs, double bagged the whole mess, and hauled it to the dumpster by the parking lot instead of lifting it by hand. We bagged 11 bags that morning and that one sack ruined the whole vibe. Has anyone found a better way to handle rotten food waste on the sand without making a bigger mess?
