Warning: switched from a grabber stick to a bucket and tongs and I'm honestly torn on which is better
For about 2 years I carried one of those cheap 32 inch grabber sticks on every cleanup at Ocean Beach, and after the third one snapped on me I finally gave up on them. Now I haul a 5 gallon bucket and a pair of rubber tongs, and my back feels way better at the end of a 2 hour sweep. But the tongs are slower on tiny stuff like cigarette butts, and I swear the stick was faster in the rocks near the jetty. So which side are you on: stick speed or bucket and tongs comfort? Curious what the rest of the crew uses on a normal Saturday.
