Can we talk about my stylist saying my hair is 'tired' and me actually thinking about it for 4 days?
So I'm sitting in the chair at this little salon on Grand Ave last Saturday, and my stylist goes, 'Your ends look tired.' That's it. That's the whole thing. She meant the split frizz and the dryness, sure, but the word 'tired' stuck in my head like gum on a shoe. I started staring at my ends in every mirror and window for the rest of the weekend, like they owed me an apology. Thing is, she was probably right. I've been heat styling about 5 times a week since April, and I know better. But something about one offhand comment from someone holding scissors made me question my whole routine. Now I'm over here wondering if I should chop 3 inches or just drown it in conditioner and hope. How do you all shake off a comment like that, or do you just get used to it? And be honest, is 'tired' just salon code for something worse?
