TIL your hair grows about half an inch a month and that changed how I plan trims
I was reading a hair science blog last week and it said hair grows around 0.5 inches per month on average. So if you want 6 inches of length, that is basically a full year of leaving it alone. I always thought my hair was growing slow but turns out I was just getting trims too often. I measured my own growth over 3 months with a little ruler on my bathroom wall and got about 1.5 inches, which lines up. Now I stretch my trims to every 12 weeks instead of 6 and the split ends are still fine. Anyone else track their growth and get a different number? I keep hearing people say theirs grows an inch a month but that seems wild to me.
