Unpopular opinion: The Office took a nosedive after Michael left

I was talking to my coworker Lisa at lunch yesterday about what shows we rewatch. She said she skips everything after season 7 because the vibe totally shifts without Steve Carell. I always thought Robert California was a fun weirdo but she made me realize the whole show became more about gimmicks than real character moments after that. Do you keep watching after Michael leaves or do you call it quits too?

Liked" is a strong word, but yeah, I actually did. I mean, look, the guy was clearly a weirdo. But I remember one time my cousin had this old, beat up station wagon that would only start if you tapped the battery with a hammer in a specific spot. That car was a total mess but it always got you where you needed to go. For me, Robert California was like that car. He was just so completely unpredictable, every scene felt like it could go off the rails. Compared to Deangelo Vickers, who was a total trainwreck, I'll take the weirdo who at least was interesting to watch.
