Thought a hawk decal would fix my window in a weekend, it took 5 weeks
Two birds hit my big living room window in one week back in March, so I grabbed a $12 hawk silhouette decal from the hardware store in Boise thinking it was a one afternoon job. Put it up, felt smug, then a robin smacked the same glass two days later. Turns out one decal does basically nothing because birds just see a clear pane around it, so I ended up taping up a whole grid of dots across the glass and adding a $30 set of external screens. Five weeks of trial, error, and two more dazed birds later, it finally stopped. Do the dots actually need to be closer than 2 inches apart to work, or am I just wasting tape at this point?
