Took me 3 tries and a roll of contact paper to fix my French doors

Ngl, I was losing my mind over birds hitting these big glass French doors in my dining room. It happened like 5 times in 2 weeks and I found a dead junco one morning. I tried those cheap window clings from the dollar store first, they peeled off after one humid week. Then I hung some wind chimes, that did nothing. Finally I went online and found that UV reflective sticker stuff, but that was like $40 for a small roll and I was skeptical. So I grabbed a $6 roll of frosted contact paper from Home Depot instead, cut it into 4 by 4 inch squares and spaced them about 6 inches apart across the whole door. It took me a lazy Sunday afternoon to cut and apply everything because I messed up the bubble situation twice. It's been 2 months now and not one single thump. The birds seem to see the pattern now as a solid thing and just avoid it. Did anyone else have luck with just the cheap frosted squares, or do I need to worry about them getting used to it eventually?
