I finally tried weight painting on my low poly frog and it made the legs bend backwards
I followed a rigging tutorial from 2019 that said to just use automatic weights and trust it, but when I posed the back legs on my frog model, they folded the wrong way like a broken umbrella. I spent 45 minutes in my apartment in Omaha redoing the weight paint by hand with a tiny brush size, and the left leg still snapped to the body when I hit play. The tutorial creator never showed the part where you have to check the bone roll, so that was my real issue all along. What's your go-to way to check bone roll before you paint weights, or do you just eyeball it and hope?
