A guy at my local game night said 'I only play games I can win' and I still think about it
Last Friday at our FLGS in Portland we had six people at the table and one guy kept passing on every co-op game we pulled out. I asked him why and he said flat out, 'I only play games I can win.' He would not touch Spirit Island or Pandemic but he jumped right into a 4 player Catan match and got mad when he lost on a bad roll. The whole table went quiet for a second and then we just moved on to Azul without him. Here is my worry, that mindset is spreading in our group and now two other regulars skip anything without a winner. It turns game night into a scoreboard instead of a hangout. How do you all handle someone in your group who treats every game like it needs a trophy at the end?
